   • Ahobalam (Great Strength): Refers to the immense strength displayed by the Man-Lion when destroying the pillar and slaying the demon.
   • Ahobilam (Great Cave): Refers to the large cave where the Lord emerged and resided.
   The legend centers on the events of the Narasimha Avatara, where Lord Vishnu emerged to protect His devotee Prahalada and destroy the demon Hiranyakashipu.
2. The Nine Forms of Narasimha (Nava Narasimha)
   Ahobilam is unique as the nine forms of Narasimha are worshipped in separate temples, mostly nestled in the dense forests and hills. They are divided into Lower Ahobilam (Kezh-Ahobilam) and Upper Ahobilam (Mel-Ahobilam):
